Regular Season Round 9: Shabab Al Ahli - Al-Ahli 91-88

A very close game took place in Dubai between UAE Shabab Al Ahli and Bahrain Al-Ahli. Second ranked Shabab Al Ahli (4-1) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Al-Ahli (1-4). Shabab Al Ahli managed to escape with a 3-point win 91-88 in the game for the second place. Shabab Al Ahli outrebounded Al-Ahli 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Deshawndre Washington (201, college: NM State) who scored 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Shabab Al Ahli players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 assists and forward Elijah Thomas (206-1996, college: Clemson, agency: MSG) added 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively. Defending UAE champion maintains second place with 4-1 record having just nine point less than leader Qadsia. Loser Al-Ahli keeps the third position with four games lost. Shabab Al Ahli will meet league's leader Kuwait in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al-Ahli will play against Al Bashaer and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
